Paramount has launched the Facebook page for J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek Into Darkness. Normally, when a studio sets up a movie’s Facebook page, it’s no big deal. It’s standard procedure. But for Star Trek Into Darkness, Paramount will release the first trailer for the film once the page reaches 500,000 likes. Additionally, fans will have the chance to enter a contest that will give them an all expenses paid trip to Hollywood for the premiere. The winner and five friends will also receive $60,000 in cash. Finally, the film’s official website will be launching soon, so keep an eye on startrekintodarkness.com.
Click here to go like the film’s Facebook page because we want to see the trailer. The film stars Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Alice Eve, Peter Weller, Noel Clarke, and Benedict Cumberbatch. Star Trek Into Darkness opens in 3D and IMAX on May 17, 2013. [Update: It turns out this was a fake page. I guess we’ll have to go back to Abrams releasing the film in 3-frame increments]
